In accordance with the Law on Free Access to Public Information, I respectfully request access to prosecutorial documentation related to the criminal case of Vlado Taneski (Kičevo, 2005–2008).

Specifically, I request access to the following:

1. Prosecutorial case files relating to the investigation and prosecution of Vlado Taneski, including:

-decisions and rulings,

-prosecutorial reports,

-documentation submitted to or issued by the Basic Court or investigative judge,

-correspondence between the prosecution and the Ministry of Interior.

2. Any forensic or expert materials submitted to the prosecution as evidence in the case, including:

-forensic biology analysis,

-crime scene evaluations,

-statements by experts,

-documentation forwarded to the prosecution by the police.

3. All documentation regarding the death of Vlado Taneski in the Kičevo detention facility (June 2008) that was handled, reviewed or archived by the Prosecutor’s Office, including:

-the incident report,

-any investigative or supervisory materials,

-conclusions or decisions issued by the prosecution regarding the circumstances of his death.

I kindly request that the materials be provided electronically (PDF or digital copies), if possible.

I am writing to request an internal review of Јавно обвинителство на Република Северна Македонија's handling of my FOI request 'Request for prosecutorial documentation regarding the Vlado Taneski case'.

I am requesting an internal review because the Ministry has failed to respond to my Freedom of Information request within the statutory deadline.

My original request concerns autopsy reports and forensic documentation related to the death of Vlado Taneski, a case of significant public interest in North Macedonia. The requested materials relate to a high-profile criminal investigation involving multiple homicides and unresolved questions surrounding the suspect’s death in custody.

Under the Law on Free Access to Public Information, the authority is obliged to respond within the legally prescribed time frame. As of today, no substantive response has been provided, nor have I received a formal decision explaining any lawful grounds for refusal, partial disclosure, or extension of the deadline.

I would like to emphasize that my request is made for journalistic and research purposes, in line with the public interest. The case of Vlado Taneski has been widely covered by international media and remains the subject of ongoing public debate.

If any parts of the requested documentation are considered exempt from disclosure, I formally request that:
- this be clearly specified,
- the legal basis for each exemption be cited,
- and all non-exempt portions be released in accordance with the principle of partial disclosure.

Given the lack of response beyond the statutory deadline, I respectfully request that this internal review ensure compliance with the law and result in a prompt, reasoned decision.
